Katie Hamness, Miss Marshall County 2007

Katie is the 20-year-old daughter of Greg and Laurie Hamness. She has two older brothers, Erick and Adam. Her hometown is Strathcona, Minn., and she graduated from Greenbush-Middle River High School in 2006. She is currently a sophomore at North Dakota State University double majoring in Journalism, Broadcasting and Mass Communication Technologies and Graphic Design. After finishing her Bachelor's degree, Katie plans to pursue graduate school in Duluth.

Katie's platform is: Save a Life Say, "Yes" - The Decision to Become and Organ/Tissue Donor. Katie has been promoting her platform at the driver's education classes throughout her county, and is in the process of developing and implementing a program into schools to cover the importance of her platform. Katie has been involved with music for over 12 years and will be doing a vocal solo for her talent. In her spare time, Katie likes to be with her family, friends, and puppy Jaxon! She also likes to shop, sing, and watch movies.


The next Miss Marshall County will be crowned on June 29th, 2008 in Newfolden, Minnesota.
