Katie Dretsch is Miss Frazee 2007.
Miss Frazee is a closed pageant. Contestants must have graduated from Frazee High School. If you are interested in competing, please contact the Frazee Area Communtity Club for information.
The pageant is always held the last Saturday in July in conjunction with town festival Turkey Days, home of the worlds largest turkey.
About Katie
Education
* Senior at the University of Mary
will graduate May 2008.
* Double Major – Early Childhood Education (Birth through grade 3) and Elementary (grades 1-6) Education. Currently is student teaching.
* While at Mary involved in: Campus Ministry core leader, Peer Minister/Ambassador, South Central Reading Committee Member, Campus Read Committee, National Education Association member, Resident Assistant and other numerous organizations. Received honors of Deans List, Servant Leadership Award, Student Leadership Award, and Who’s Who among American Students.
Platform - Readers are Leaders
* Having a passion for children and education has driven me to understand the extreme importance and impact literacy can have not only on students but on generations.
* My platform focuses on building and enthusiasm for reading and creating and an awareness of the importance and how families can help each other be successful and enjoy reading/literacy.
Talent
* Have always loved to sing. Has sung both in high school and college choirs and ensembles. Also been singing in church choir since she was old enough to remember.
* Feel that singing is a God given gift that she loves to share and let others enjoy!
* Singing is a sometimes a vent for Katie, and just takes her to own world of enjoyment and emotion and feelings.
Is very excited to be representing her home community! Love to be in the Frazee area and enjoy the great people, lakes, nature, and activities that she has grown to love so much!
